Fresh Powder and New Friends in Okemo Valley

April 1, 20194 Comments

It was a few weeks ago when I drove four hours north to Burlington, Vermont. I decided to take the weekend and explore the state a little further. As I made my way south, I opted to stop in Ludlow. My destination: Okemo Mountain. Now keep in mind that I have not stepped foot on … Continue reading Fresh Powder and New Friends in Okemo Valley

Burlington In a Day

Do you know when you just need to experience a change of scenery? That was me this past weekend. I had a job interview scheduled in Vermont so I took advantage of the opportunity to explore the area. Lately, I’ve heard a decent amount of good reviews about living in the state so I knew … Continue reading Burlington In a Day

There are those who choose to relax on the beach and wade in the water when the ocean is calm, and those who see tall waves crashing against the volcanic rock and decide a small thrill would be more enjoyable. . #acores #howloften #sheexplores
Sometimes a spontaneous getaway is necessary. Winter has arrived in full force back home in Vermont and I’m quite excited to see how the season will unfold, but a dose of warm sun and lush tropical forest is always welcome. . #acores #howloften #shexexplores
Yes, it’s winter here already. Yes, I’m still avidly enjoying being outdoors. And yes, these goldens are locally famous for hiking to the summit of this trail whenever they please. 😄 . #vermont #thegroundskeepers #leaveitbetter #optoutside #howloften #sheexplores
A scenic fall hike - you just can’t go wrong. 🍁 #thatadmirationthough
More and more I’ve realized how much personal growth and development we experience as we age, and how our relationships tend to mirror these changes. With shifts in lifestyle, priorities, and values, new connections come into our lives as naturally as old ones depart. And then there are a select few who withstand these transitions and continually keep our hearts full. 🤗
We’re peaking here and I couldn’t be more thrilled. Also, special visitors in town make this time that much more enjoyable. 🤗 . #vermont #lovemynewhome #fall #leafpeeping #fallfoliage #greenmountains #camelshump
Sometimes it’s not really clear to me why we do the things we do. Some things will never change. 🙈
I’d say fall is approaching here in New England 🍁 . #whitemountains #newhampshire #fall #thegroundskeepers #happytofindalmostzerotrash

What better way to spend the holiday weekend than with this gal ☺️ . . #stowe #vermont #thegroundskeepers #leaveitbetter #wildernessculture #thehikemovement #womenwhohike
Years ago I had an image of what life would be like at 30, and to be honest, it wasn’t even close to the real thing, yet it feels exactly right. I couldn’t be more grateful to be surrounded (even in distance for many) by so many amazing humans. I‘ve learned a great deal from each and every significant person in my life and it has certainly impacted me and shaped who I’ve become. So really, here’s to those of you who inspire me and make me smile every single day. 😊
I never realized that summer would have a whole new meaning after moving here. The long days combined with accessible water and trail systems, as well as incredibly active and encouraging, close-knit communities, translates to one heck of a change for me, and in the best way possible. Only in hindsight do I truly realize that the places I've lived before weren't sufficient environments to provide the lifestyle that I began craving. . There's a culture and mindset here that I have a hard time explaining to others. The question of what you do becomes a matter of what you're passionate about, not necessarily what your occupation is. I was told when moving here that many people tend to participate in a myriad of commitments and activities either within the scope of their work or outside of the office, and that couldn't be more true. It also didn't take long for it to become apparent that people either return or move here for the strong sense of community. And I'm now finding that these two concepts go hand in hand. . What I'm trying to say is, if there's something you're looking for, even if you can't quite envision it, continue searching, because it surely exists. . . #vermont #tuesdaymorninggratitude #optoutside #sheexplores #howloften #awakethesoul #keepitwild #theoutbound
I was impressed by the Adirondacks this past weekend. It was a place I’ve never explored and always looked past when choosing a destination for adventure. With them being so accessible now, how could I not return to a place with such beauty. 🙌🏻 . #adirondacks #2019groundskeepers #leaveitbetter #optoutside #sheexplores #howloften #awakethesoul #adventureinspired #keepitwild #theoutbound #wildernessculture #thehikemovement #womenwhohike
